Stronger Together: Celebrating the Women Behind Minor Sports

Behind every team, every practice, and every game, there are women who give their time, energy, and hearts to helping young athletes grow. They are coaches, volunteers, mentors, and role models. They celebrate the wins, encourage their players through the challenges, and show up day after day to make a difference.

But while they spend so much time supporting others, who is supporting them?

That’s where GoodLife Fitness comes in.

Making Time for Themselves

Between work, family, practices, games, and countless volunteer commitments, finding time for personal health and fitness can feel like one more thing on an already full schedule.

Through our Stronger Together initiative, GoodLife Fitness is celebrating four incredible women involved in minor sports and helping them make their own health and well-being a priority.

Rebecca, Coti, Emilie, and Julia have each received a one-year GoodLife Fitness Membership, giving them the opportunity to explore fitness on their own terms, discover workouts that fit their schedules, and build routines that work for their lives.

Because taking care of yourself doesn't have to mean making big changes overnight. Sometimes, it's about finding 30 minutes for a workout, trying a new group fitness class, or simply making time to recharge.

Small changes can make a big impact, especially for women who spend so much of their time caring for others.

Meet the Women Behind the Movement

Rebecca | Baseball, Special Olympics and Track and Field Coach

Rebecca wears many hats, coaching baseball with Kanata Baseball while also dedicating her time to Special Olympics and track and field. Her commitment to sport helps athletes of different abilities build confidence, develop skills, and experience the joy of being part of a team.

Coti | All Abilities Program Coordinator, Pickering FC

As the All-Abilities Program Coordinator at Pickering FC, Coti helps create opportunities for athletes of all abilities to participate, connect, and thrive through sport.

Emilie | LEAP and Recreational Coach, Pickering FC

Emilie brings her energy and passion to Pickering FC through her work with the LEAP and recreational programs, helping young players learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

Julia | Field Convenor and Recreational Coach, Pickering FC

Balancing the responsibilities of field convenor and recreational coach, Julia helps keep community soccer running while supporting the players and families who make it special.

Each woman has her own story, her own schedule, and her own reasons for giving back. But they share something important: a commitment to helping others feel supported, included, and empowered.

Now, it's their turn to experience that same support.

A GoodLife Fitness Journey, One Small Step at a Time

Over the coming months, we'll follow Rebecca, Coti, Emilie, and Julia as they discover what GoodLife Fitness can look like in their everyday lives.

We'll get a glimpse into their day-to-day routines, learn how they fit fitness around their coaching and volunteer commitments, and find out which group fitness classes and activities become their favourites.

We'll also explore the connections they make along the way, because fitness isn't just about getting stronger physically. It's about finding community, building confidence, reducing stress, and making space for yourself.

Their journeys won't be about perfection or finding extra hours in the day. They'll be about discovering realistic ways to feel better, one workout, one class, and one small change at a time.

Because Strong Communities Start with Supported Women

Female coaches and volunteers are an essential part of minor sports. They help build more than athletic skills; they nurture confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

When we support the women who support our communities, the impact can reach far beyond the gym.

A little more energy. A renewed sense of confidence. A new friendship made in a fitness class. A moment in the day that belongs entirely to them.

These may seem like small things, but together, they can make a world of difference.

At GoodLife Fitness, we're proud to support Rebecca, Coti, Emilie, and Julia as they begin their fitness journeys. We're excited to celebrate their progress, share their honest experiences, and show how making time for personal well-being can fit into even the busiest of lives.

Because they spend so much time cheering others on. Now, it's our turn to cheer them on.
