Dr. Rahimi’s orthodontic journey began in Hamilton in 1995 after completing his specialty training. In November 2014, he opened Palermo Orthodontics in Oakville, followed by a Hamilton location in July 2017. In 2020, Dr. Nghe Luu joined the practice and became co-owner of both offices marking an exciting new chapter of shared leadership and vision.
Both doctors bring unique stories that shape how they care for patients today.
As a child, Dr. Rahimi had a significant overbite, and the life-changing results of his own orthodontic treatment sparked his passion for the field. He earned his Dentistry degree from McGill University in 1990 and completed his Orthodontics training at Boston University in 1995.
Dr. Luu’s path blended art and science. Growing up, he loved visual arts and drawing lifelike sketches, while also excelling in physics and life sciences. Orthodontics allowed him to combine creativity with precision. He graduated from McGill University’s Dentistry program in 2006 and completed his Orthodontics training at the University of Alberta in 2011.

Both doctors grew up playing sports themselves. Dr. Rahimi played organized soccer and also enjoyed tennis, volleyball, and hockey. Dr. Luu competed in volleyball, badminton, and track and field. They saw early on how every teammate’s effort contributes to the whole, just like in school, work, and life.
One memorable childhood story: Dr. Rahimi always wanted to play hockey, but his father, an oral surgeon, discouraged it. In the 1970s, many of his emergency cases involved serious dental and facial injuries from hockey accidents, long before today’s safety standards were in place.
The Most Rewarding Part of Giving Back
Many of Palermo Orthodontics’ sponsorships begin with patients asking for support for their teams. At the end of the season, families often return with plaques, photos, and stories from tournaments and championships.

Dr. Rahimi would tell his younger self to enjoy the process. Dr. Luu would emphasize working hard toward goals, while also investing time in personal growth and meaningful relationships. Together, they believe that balance is key to a full and happy life.
