Athletes often search high and low for the secrets of success, but one of the most important pieces linked to amplifying their performance is simply being prepared.

While it seems obvious to prepare, mentally and physically, many athletes do not, leaving them susceptible to potential anxiety and physical injury.

Working from the principle that it takes 21 days to form a habit, consistency in pregame prep is key and athletes who follow a comfortable, thought-aligning pre-game routine not only minimize the chances for outside noise distractions, but lower the risk of injury that could hinder not only performance, but being able to have a lasting season.

Getting into a habit of a pre-game warm up routine, and post recovery, will help prepare the mind to focus, and the body to perform.

There are plenty of resources on the internet to help prepare, but the folks at Ottawa Physiotherapy and & Sports Clinics are experts in being proactive, rather than reactive.

They have written an article that focuses on the crucial aspect of athletic development: injury prevention.

They help players understand and implement proactive strategies to ensure they continue to enjoy the sport they love for a long time
